First, we begin the route immersed in the tranquility of the Tapada, heading towards the charming Lagoa dos Mosqueiros. From there, we venture along trails that lead us to the majestic Quinta das Sequóias, where we’ll be awestruck by the grandeur of these centuries-old trees.
However, along the way, there are moments when the vegetation opens up and we’re rewarded with breathtaking views. To the west, the horizon merges with the blue of the Atlantic Ocean, while to the south, the charming town of Sintra reveals itself like a living postcard, surrounded by the mystical landscape of the mountains. A perfect setting to take a break and soak in the magic of this unique place.
Moreover, along the way, we’ll come across wooden sculptures of animals such as the deer, the bear, and the wolves, creations by the artist Nansi Hemming, which pay homage to the fauna that once inhabited this mountain range.
